Wipe out Fascism!
Belgrade, May 9, 2015
The Belgrade-based youth group of the Helsinki
Committee marked the Day of Victory over Fascism by staging a public
campaign under the slogan “Wipe out Fascism!” The event was organized on
May 9 at the Nikola Pašić Square in Belgrade. Passersby were being
handed over flyers saying “Wipe out fascism” to throw them into a
makeshift washing machine. They then received white strips as a symbol
of “wiped out” badges and patches inmates of concentration camps and all
“in the way” of the Third Reich had to wear. More than three hundred
citizens joined the campaign thus commemorating the Day of Victory over
Fascism and reminding that fascist and Nazi crimes committed in the
Second World War should never be forgotten.
