PROMOTING A SOCIAL CLIMATE PROPITIOUS TO TRANSITIONAL JUSTICE AND A CULTURE OF NON-IMPUNITY (2010-13)

This 3-year project uses a window of opportunity opened by Serbia's application for EU candidacy in 2009 and the adoption the parliamentary resolution on Srebrenica in March 2010 to promote a social climate propitious to the tenets of transitional justice and culture of accountability through four sets of interrelated activities: 1. Production, promotion and online availability of the organization's magazine, The Helsinki Charter; 2. Online availability of quality analyses for the attention of international stakeholders; 3. Interactive launches and broadcasts; and 4. Seminars on transitional justice with international participation, tailored to audiences of university students in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Novi Pazar. In its capacity as a partner in the project the Norwegian Helsinki Committee will be reporting about human rights and TJ in Serbia internationally and in Norway, on the web, through seminars and meetings and participation in international intergovernmental human rights forums.
